Welcome to the Bag Books Resource Hub — a free space filled with accessible sensory storytelling resources for anyone supporting children or adults with severe or profound learning disabilities.

Our DIY stories are simple, engaging, and designed for use in one-to-one or group sessions at home, in special schools, day centres, or community settings. Like our classic Bag Books, each story pairs a few short lines with suggested sensory props — everyday objects you’re likely to have on hand.

DIY Stories

Our multi-sensory stories are grouped into themes to help you find the right one for the moment. Whether you're supporting someone through a big change, exploring a special event, or diving into an imaginative adventure, there’s something here for every setting.

Each story is designed for one-to-one use, using simple props and sensory prompts to bring it to life. They’re especially helpful for children and adults with severe or profound learning disabilities.

01. Everyday Life and Emotional Literacy

These stories help listeners make sense of everyday experiences, understand emotions, and cope with change. They’re great for PSHE sessions, wellbeing support, or simply helping someone feel more prepared.

Remembering Grandad This Christmas

As we move into the festive season, we do so remembering family and friends who we have sadly lost. This gentle and heartwarming sensory story invites you to celebrate the memory of a loved one during the festive season. Feel free to adapt the story to remember the person who holds a special place in your own family’s memories.

Party In The Sky

Frog wants to go to the big party in the sky, so he hitches a lift in Uluru's guitar. He has a great time at the party, but feels unwell on the journey home, and ends up falling to the ground.

The Three Little Pigs

The three pigs each build a house but the big, bad wolf tries to blow the houses down.

Max’s Garden Adventure
