We Had a Rebrand!

A New Chapter for Bag Books

Since Bag Books was founded in 1993, we have brought stories to life for people with severe and complex learning disabilities through our unique multi-sensory books, storytelling and training. Over three decades, we have supported thousands of people and built a reputation for creativity, quality and inclusion. One belief has always guided our work: everyone deserves access to the joy, connection and comfort that stories can bring.

Now, we are proud to unveil a new brand identity and a completely rebuilt website.

Our refreshed look is both significant and purposeful. A bold new logo, vibrant purple, orange and golden yellow palette, and warm modern typography replace the monochrome design we've used for more than 30 years. The new colours reflect the spirit of Bag Books: purple for creativity and imagination, orange and yellow for warmth, energy and joy.

Our new strapline, Connect, Include, Inspire, captures what Bag Books has always set out to do.

This rebrand has been shaped through conversations with trustees, supporters and our wider community. What came through clearly was that Bag Books has grown and evolved. Our identity should reflect that: not only books, but storytelling sessions, training, printed resources and a growing digital presence reaching people across the UK. We worked with Peach and Dot Creative Studio (www.peachanddot.com) to translate these insights into a visual identity that feels both fresh and true to who we are.

Our new website at www.bagbooks.org brings all of this together in one place. The shop has expanded with new titles, each with a filmed video guide to bring the stories to life. Our books remain subsidised thanks to the generosity of our supporters and funders. This keeps them affordable for the families, schools and care settings that need them most. At the heart of the site is our Resource Hub: a free collection of downloadable DIY multi-sensory stories and storytelling demonstration videos, designed for anyone supporting people with learning disabilities, whether at home, in school or in a care setting. Over the coming months we'll be adding craft and prop-making guides and a library finder showing where Bag Books can be borrowed across the UK.

We would also love you to join our Facebook community, Sensory Chat, where more than 370 members share ideas, experiences and a love of sensory storytelling. You can find us at www.facebook.com/groups/bbsensorychat.

What has not changed is the work itself: the same handcrafted care, the same trusted relationships, and the same commitment to people who are too often left out of the story.

We are not leaving 1993 behind. We are building on it.

"Bag Books has always been about more than books. It has been about connection, creativity and making sure that people with complex learning disabilities have the same access to the magic of stories as everyone else. This new identity reflects everything we have built over 30 years and everything we are working towards. I'm incredibly proud of what we stand for, and excited about what comes next."

Lucy Barrett, CEO, Bag Books

We are excited to step into this next chapter with our whole community beside us. Thank you for being part of our story.
