Charities are now able to reclaim from the Inland Revenue the tax you've paid on your donation - currently 28p for every £1 donated - at no extra cost to you!

This means if you donate £5.00 we can reclaim £1.41 making your donation worth £6.41 to Bag Books. All you need to do is make a Gift Aid Declaration when you make your donation.

What if you are a higher rate tax payer?

If you pay tax at the higher rate, you too can benefit from tax relief. You can reclaim the difference between 22 per cent and 40 per cent tax you have paid. For example, if you give £10.00 we can reclaim £2.82 and you can reclaim another £2.31 so your £10.00 donation has only cost you £7.69 but is worth £12.82 to Bag Books.
